Special Concerts and Events at keyboard Concepts

Award-winning pianist Tamir Hendelman - Sunday, January 28 at 5:00pm - Santa Monica

Pianist Tamir Hendelman pays tribute to Gershwin and more - including a Two-piano Rhapsody in Blue.
Award-winning pianist Tamir Hendelman has performed with his own trio, the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, the Jeff Hamilton Trio and a host of artists including Barbra Streisand, Natalie Cole, James Moody and many more. Known for his lyrical approach, love of swing and inventive arrangements, this will be a special opportunity for him to present an intimate Sunday evening concert featuring a two-piano version of Rhapsody in Blue ahead of his February orchestral performance with the AZ Music Fest Orchestra in Phoenix. The concert will also feature some special duos with pianist Morgan Jones – musical tributes to Gershwin and more.

As a youth, he moved from Tel Aviv to Los Angeles, winning Yamaha’s national keyboard competition, performing in Japan and the Kennedy Center, attending Tanglewood in 1998 and receiving a Bachelor of Music Composition from the Eastman School of Music in 1993.

Tamir’s latest CD, Destinations reached #1 in the US jazz charts. The album takes listeners along on a voyage of musical discovery, from originals to Jobim, Keith Jarrett and Maurice Ravel. “Destinations to me is about the journey of being a jazz musician.”

At this special Keyboard Concepts concert event, Tamir will be performing on the new beautifully redesigned Yamaha semi-concert grand, as well as the world’s finest Bösendorfer semi-concert grand piano.
